I am a huge fan of a 'quotable quote' poster. I mean, those old cat on a branch 'Keep Hanging On' posters probably aren't going to grab me, but otherwise, I'm good. I remember the first motivational card I ever received was from Granny Mays (remember Granny Mays?!) by Boynton (remember Boynton?!) - it was an accordion-style card that unfolded to show an elephant covered with turkeys and the saying, "Don't let the turkeys get you down". Still a favourite.
This one created by
Kensie Kate is lovely because of the design but also because the words are words we all need to hear, every single day.

What quote would you put on a poster?

I guess mine would be"this is the first day to the rest of your life"
Oh thanks for the trip down memory lane. I loved Granny Mays and had a card with that quote on it. Funny! I like the image. I haven't heard that one before. But I just stumbled upon 'Fear less, hope more' and that resonates with me at the moment. Have a lovely week. Always nice to visit your blog.
Mine would deff be "ah well shit happens" my dad use to say it kinda reminds me that whatever my problem is there is way worse out there in the world!
That's a good one. I do remember Granny Mays..whatever happened to those shops? Funny how fads come and go.
Oh, I still love Boynton and thanks for reminding me about Granny May's. I still have cards stashed that I bought 25 years ago, probably from that shop and I reckon that there would still be a Boynton or two to be found.
In light of upcoming holidays, my poster would read:"In America, there are two classes of travel: First class, and with children." -- Robert Benchley
I think that it will be an accurate summation of our family holiday ;)
Oh Granny Mays, I do remember!! I'm a huge fan of quotes. Think the first I had on a sticker in my diary was a baseball one that said 'You'll never get to second base with your foot on first base'. Lame but kinda true!! x
Used to love Granny May's as a kid. All the cards and the stickers! My aunty owned one for a while. I'm a big collector of quotes. Couldn't choose just one. One for each situation.
Yes, definitely remember Granny May's!
I think I could put a dozen Dr Seuss quotes on posters. In my kitchen, I'd like to put:
Stressed spelt backwards is Desserts.
This is something that I have to remind myself every day.
My quote would definitely be: what goes around, comes around. xx
Oooooh, Granny May's... many a Saturday afternoon spent browsing the stickers and cute little things. I'd have 'what's past is prologue'... I love the idea that everything in the past - good, bad or otherwise - has led me to this point.
Oh I couldn't possible pick a favourite quote, they change frequently. Whatever is "speaking" to me at the time :) I do remember Granny May's, wow what a blast from the past. I used to love to browse card shops xx
