I have been looking for the 'right' coffee table for about nine years. NINE years.
I finally found it and, as it's my birthday today (I'm older than yesterday, all my friends are coming over to play), this is my birthday present. I can't believe the coffee table that I've been searching for for so long is up the road at Domayne of all places, but there you go. We need to be open to all possibilities, friends.
Twelve weeks until delivery. Seriously, who does that? They shouldn't be allowed to display things that take TWELVE weeks to deliver. But then, after nine years, what's twelve more weeks, right?

Waaaah! Happy Birthday my lovely friend! Now....I know there appears to be some parallels in our lives, but here we go again! I've been without a coffee table for 6 years....yes 6. So when i finally found my dream coffee table, I snapped it up pronto (from bay leather republic if you were interested!) Yes, i waited the 12 weeks (i know i know don't get me started on that rubbish either!) and then they tell me it's delayed till October but I can have the floor stock. Yes, i say, floor stock will be fine (as young lady swiped a little $$ off for me!) however it turns up damaged so now I have the ruined coffee table, whilst I wait for my brand new one in October....but I've waited 6 years....what's another couple of months. And you know...Do you feel young babies and coffee tables don't mix? I mean finally Bron...we are growing up and getting coffee tables at the time our youngest are hopefully old enough to know not to climb, fall into, or use as anything other than a coffee table! Love your choice....enjoy filling it will coffee table books, and kneeling around to play endless games of monopoly! And don't you dare plop some drift wood under yours!

Coffee tables are the hardest things to buy. It took me years to find one I liked and then we had a baby so I had to reassess everything. No sharp edges, no corners... Bah!! Eventually I found one that both fit the brief and that I loved.

My birthday is in 2 months and I normally have my present list compiled and ready to go WELL in advance, this year is so different. With Sophie in my life I don't care for much. I would just love an afternoon soaking up the sunshine with family and friends and plenty of vino!!

I've been caring for other people's homes for over 20 years and found the best way to look after wood is with an Orange Oil spray from http://www.howardproducts.com.au/
It will keep the wood in wonderful condition and stop it from splitting, so you'll have it for many years to come :) (One bottle will last you a lifetime!)
yes i soooo want a new coffee table too! this is almost exactly the same as the one i picked, but i have suggested to my hubby that instead of paying $1000 for the one i like, he could make it for me!!! unfortunatly we have to build a $20,000 shed first!!! i see this as extremely unfair, but i am sure it will be worth it in the long run. So happy birthday & 12 weeks isn't too bad really :)

Happy birthday for yesterday and gorgeous choice of coffee table. All of my tables are timber, I just love the raw elements in my home. It took me about the same amount of time to buy my lamps. I found them at Laura Ashley of all places. And I had to wait for them to be delivered from the storeroom - crystal bases with silk shades. They're very pretty and each time I turn them on I feel lovely x
