Pin of the Day: Toadstool loving

Can we get enough of the mushrooms lately? When did all the botanical-slash-birdie loving morph into woodland-slash-toadstool loving? We're all nuts for them (woodland / nuts, geddit?) Did I love toadstools this much before the current toadstool frenzy? Before toadstools were fashionable? We may never know...

I've got a Party on Down: Wodland board (of course I have - just need to get a kid interested in squirrels and I'm ready to go) and I chose these cute little jars as my pin of the day today. Because they're cute. And toadstooly.

They are by Kerstin Treber-Koban and she gives instructions on how she made them on her Flickr page (not that it looks like rocket science or anything! Have paint, ready to toadstool...). A little hint about finding stuff on Flickr - find cool people you love and make them a 'contact' (even if you don't actually know them). Then you can suss out all their fave photos. Lots of fab stuff uncovered this way, these toadstool jars were via Creature Comfort. 'Friends', 'contacts', 'followers' - sheesh, social media is bloody ridiculous, isn't it! So is the word 'sheesh' unless you're seventy-eight and it's 1948...

Click here to see Creature Comfort's favourites or click on the image to see the pin!

What's your take on the current toadstool overload?

I love these cute jars, but must say I'm not a real toadstool lover, it just hasn't caught on in our house.

Those jars are seriously CUTE. I like toadstools but thankfully I haven't got the fever because my house is already full of so much stuff I HAD TO HAVE....

Oh, these would go perfectly on our mini fairy terrariums that we have just made! 'Twould match the little toadstools we popped inside them. I'll get the kids onto it tomorrow! I didn't show the lids in the post, coz quite frankly they looked ugly, but they need lids to save on watering - thanks!

I made a bunch of toadstools last night out of playdough for our fairy garden. I think I have my fix now but I do like them :)

These are so cute! I have been loving toadstools for over 2 years now, I am enjoying finding them everywhere, I am not sick of them yet. I am quite sick of owls though!

Plus, I find it funny that I love toadstools as objects, but detest fungus/mushrooms to eat. I am a HUGE fungus hater.
