52 weeks of Grateful: Nature

I'm generally a big fan of nature. There isn't a problem in the world that toes-in-the-sand can't solve. Or the smell of gum leaves. Or cold mountain air. A valley view.

I really don't like a lot of it, though. The random things that bite. Great wads of leaves just flying everywhere. Things pooing with abandon, spiders lurking. And don't get me started on getting sand out of the car - the laborious cost of those wonderful toes-in-the-sand moments.

Yeah, I'm really more of a patio kind of girl.

But throw my Tsunamis into our backyard, let them climb and run and dig, swing them on the tree swing and I could never, ever go back to city living. And boy am I'm grateful for that.

Now gals, I've noticed a distinct drop in Grateful link-ups lately. Sob.
Are you over linkies / me / being grateful / life?
Do let me know what I can do to win you back again.

Come visit me at Kidspot today!

So, what's making you smile today? Add your post to the list below (and please, we love you, but it really does matter that your post is a Grateful one and not just a random) and pretty-please add a link back to this linky or to Kidspot. Then pop over to visit other bloggers who are spreading a little sunshine.

I'm still here! I'm even following your grateful themes! xx

Your back yard looks like hours of fun and many a meditative moment. There is nothing quite like nature to get a bit of grounding. I'm joining in this week again too. Promise to be a bit more consistent!

Oh sand! So annoying. You find it days later. Give me a pool any day. And I do believe that if a pool is outdoors, it's still in nature - so it counts. :)
You've inspired me to get outdoors more though... I much prefer space to city nowadays too.

I haven't been very consistent with my gratefuls, but I'm here. I'm still loving them. You could never do anything to put me off Bron. You are fantabulous! xx

I was a good girl and followed the prompt this week. Maybe people are too grumpy to be grateful. I sure am running into a lot of grumpy folks lately.

Hey Bron, I'm not over you at all! Just work Thurs/Fri nights and weekends so am always late!

I'm grateful every day over at my blog this year. :)

This is my first week of grateful! I've been reading some lovely posts over the last month that I've been blogging so thought it was high time I joined in.
As for gardens - I neeeed one. We're in an apartment at the moment but I know if I had a garden, my little man would be happy as larrykins.

No, not over it at all. It's nice you're reminding me to be grateful every week! Just that I wasn't sure if our grateful post had to fit in with the theme, or if it could be any grateful post! I'll put mine on soon. Promise!

I love nature too, but boy I could do without the sand-clear up at the beach every time. Maybe they should lay decking down on some of the beaches for us exhausted mamas....

Sometimes I can't string two words together, writing a post can take me ages, or even though I'm grateful, I just can't make it sound interesting enough to blog about, so I hope it's ok to just link up when I can, grateful for your blog and the opportunity to link up x

Maxabella said...

@Sam - link up whenever you please, dearest!

@April Lou - I'm pretty grumpy myself lately. Must be something in the weather!?

@Vanessa - you don't have to go with the theme, no way. Whatever you're grateful for is fine by me and the gang!

I love you Bron, and link up when I can, just sorry I haven't been that much of late.

I love nature too, just not all the mess it makes.

xx jody

sorry for my tardiness last week bron! it was all kinds of crazy and just posted last week's grateful today.. and of course the linky list is closed! whoops.. will do my homework tomorrow! I love the regular reminder to stop and appreciate what's going on around me, even the small things x

Kids + nature = happy days.
Like you, I have to get my head past the mess, muck and monsters and let 'em at it.

I wonder if the specificity (ha ha - word???) of the theme put people off?
I'm just inconsiderate so i'll post whatever grateful I want to - either pretending it ties to the theme or pretending I know nothing of a theme apart from gratitude!
:-) xxxx

Maxabella said...

@Mum on the Run - I think you're onto something there. I think the theme isn't great for some. I might just do the theme on Kidspot and go back to my 'top 3' here on my blog. I've missed it anyway. Thanks hon. x

Isn't it great having room to move? I love it too.
Sorry, I havn't done an I'm grateful for a while, nothing personal!! I just forget, I am hopeless like that. I promise to try to remember next week!

(If it makes you feel any better, I only had 1 person link up to my Tuesday's Treasures last week! Haha!)

Ah! I love 'grateful for'.

Love it!

Look forward to it every week :)

I love the reflection. And I love the humbling nature of simply writing out a post about something you're grateful for.

Keep doing it! :)

I was so heavily within nature this week that I had no mobile reception/minimal internet reception (BLISS!), so I missed last week's.

But I'm still here :)

... lovin' what you do!

xx

completely over you ;-p

I for one will absolutely NOT be coming back here at all today.

Have a rather smashing Weekend.

You are so right - about the nature thing being therapeutic. it's the best cure for my Lewi,
especially the water.

I'm reading your gratefuls every week and I'm not over linkys but I think the problem for me is that I'm not feeling very grateful. How wrong is that!!! I will pull myself together ASAP and I'll be back with a better attitude and brighter face;)

But, Bron, of course it's NOT you!!! We all love ya too much!!! xx

loving all things nature. Listening to the birds chirping as I I write! Love love love!!!
p.s. my first link (number 20) you can delete as link does not link... must be that early morning trying to think business that is not switched on...

ohh... i haven't had coffee yet! That's it! xx

love spotted gums and what a great playground for your kiddos.

I sometimes miss what is available at the drop of the hat in the city and the buzz. But not the traffic or the being directly under the flight path.

I am a sort of get my fingernails dirty kind of girl. Love a bush bash.

Did not realise there was supposed to be a theme. But I do love your linky.

D'you know, this makes me feel hideous, but I can never think of anything to be grateful about!!
Well, no, not strictly true -- but everything seems to come back to either my husband, or not living out in that awful town any more (which was because my husband quit that awful job).
So if I linked up, I would be saying, every week, I'm grateful for my husband because he....
I DO read though.
Must get round and leave some love.

I am always here just slot of the time silently reading cause I suck at responding on my iPad, the auto correct makes my look like a complete dufus. I wanted to participate this week, but I just didn't get my shit together in time. It's been a bit of a sucky second part of the week and I have been feeling a little sorry for myself. Anyway, you really didn't need to hear that. My point is I love reading these every week and I have promised myself I will participate more in this project, I have even officially typed it into my blogging calendar. Xxx

Are those pictures of your backyard? Looks like the kids would be having so much fun there. I'm not surprised you don't want to go anywhere.

I come here pretty much everyday. Definitely not sick of you, perhaps just sick of talking? I much prefer listening (reading).
Plus, I couldn't figure out how to comment on Kidspot. Please explain it to me like I'm 5.
Happy weekend. x

"Things pooing with abandon"...yes! Especially when you can't identify which animal it came from. Scary. You're so right about happy kids in the outdoors, MB. Who needs plastic fantastic toys when you have a hearty dose of nature...sigh! so wish we didn't live in the city.

I have backyard envy! How lucky are your kids! One of the things that I am most grateful for is that I grew up with lots of outdoors!

I'm just a haphazard blogger with linky joining. " it's not you, it's me" ;)
